Harding Presidency
Hard served as the 29th president of the United States from 1921 until his death in 1923. Harding led a life of "Normalcy" which refer to "simpler days" before the progressive era and great war. Harding managed to comfort the "healing" nation by using peaceful and calm words. In August 2, 1923 Harding suddenly died of a heart attack and was replaced by his Vice President, Calvin Coolidge.

Speakeasies
In January 16th, 1919 the 18th amendment was passed which prohibited the sale, manufacture, and transportation of alcoholic beverages in the US. This led to speakeasies emerging, which were hidden nightclubs people went to get liquor. Speakeasies kept running until 1923, when the amendment was passed.
Quota System
Throughout the 1920's anti-immigrant attitudes had been growing. This led to the quota system being established which set a maximum amount of people who could enter the US.
Fordney McCumber Tariff

The Fordney-McCumber Tariff of 1922 was a law that raised American tariffs on many imported goods to protect factories and farms. The US congress displayed a pro-business attitude in passing the tariff and in promoting foreign trade by providing huge loans to Europe. That, in turn, bought more US goods.
